Pre-K Class

Our Warm, Friendly Environment Is Full of Love And Hugs for Your Child.

Your Child Will Explore Hands-On Activities That Encourage Their Early Learning

In our Pre-K class we use a comprehensive reading and language arts program. Your child will love exploring through one of the 24 letter books, learning to identify and write each letter, trying out the sound it makes, and blending those sounds together to make words! Hands on games, exercises and activities are the foundation of our Pre-K math program, structured from McGraw/McGraw Hill’s Math in My World Kindergarten curriculum. Creative areas of art and music, an introduction to Spanish vocabulary, fun and exciting science exploration, and a multicultural approach to social studies complete this well-rounded early education experience.

They’ll learn:

Reading, handwriting, auditory and oral language skills

Emphasizing each letter of the alphabet through games, exercises, and art projects

Number recognition

Counting to 100

Essential skills in graphing, measuring, beginning geometry

Concepts of time and money

Personalized Attention Builds a Solid Academic Foundation

Each child is unique and requires a little extra help in certain areas. We individualize our high quality Kindergarten level programs to ensure your child builds a solid foundation for school. Two exceptional teachers coach your little one who is now well on they’re way to Kindergarten.

They’ll learn:

  • Reading, writing, and listening skills
  • Letter stroke patterns starting with the letters of C, O, and G
  • To complete individual letter books that they then get to keep
  • Writing skills that they practice every day: letter formation as well as phonemic writing in their journals
  • Handwriting skills such as building stamina, control, and muscle strength in their hands
  • Concepts that will help them have strong math skills for Kindergarten
  • How to follow-up kinesthetic activities with a worksheet, just like in Kindergarten
  • Science vocabulary like” hypothesis” and what that means when conducting experiments
  • About systems found in the Human Body, Life Cycles, and the Solar System

Cooperation and Long-Lasting Social Skills

It’s the simple things – like taking turns in cooperative play- that will allow your little one to feel happy and secure. Imagine your child’s confidence when they see their teachers as coaches, understand their own uniqueness and happily explore diversity within their community.

Ready for Kindergarten

Kids feel safe & secure with a familiar routine and enjoy their predictable Pre-K schedule. Yet they absolutely delight in the fun surprises, like meeting an Olympic athlete or having a visit from the Fire Dept., that we blend into their day-to-day. Your child will know exactly what to expect in Kindergarten, and will be sure to shine.

NAEYC stands for the National Association for the Education of Young Children. This is the highest accreditation for preschools in the country. Accredited programs have met NAEYC’s 10 standards for high quality early childhood education.

We provide a morning and an afternoon snack. However, we do not have a commercial kitchen on site, so we cannot prepare lunches for the students. Parents are asked to pack a healthy lunch ice packs for their child each day. We have microwaves in every classroom to reheat meals.

The State of Texas licensing regulations require that all children in care for more than 5 hours a day be given a nap/quiet time. Kindergarten Prep will have the children lie quietly on their mats for 30-45 minutes. At the end of that time, children who are not asleep will be given a bag with quiet activities until nap time is over. Music and books on CD are played for the children during this time also.

Daily notes are provided for the 2yr old program. However, the 3’s and Pre-K program do not send out notes due to time constraints. We feel that writing multiple notes each day would take away from valuable instruction time. We do send home progress notes and assessment every 6 weeks and hold parent-teacher conferences twice a year.

Kindergarten Prep has taken the cost to educate your child during the (10) months of the regular school year and divided into 10 equal payments. Therefore, you pay the same amount each month whether your child is in school or not. This is actually less expensive than paying a weekly tuition for the whole year. The school also does not charge any additional supply fees.

Yes, each classroom and playground has at least one security camera which allows our administration team to continuously monitor activities throughout the center with audio and visual.

On their first day a child will need to bring a backpack with a change of clothes, a lunch and a nap roll for nap time.

WHAT PARENTS HAVE TO SAY...

Kindergarten Prep helped both of our children address their weaknesses so that when kindergarten came they both tested into Allen’s Gifted and Talented Program!

Dr. Aaron Block

When my son started kindergarten last year, he was ahead of his classmates in reading, math, and social skills. He was awarded the High Five Award for Outstanding Character and I credit the wonderful staff for teaching him social skills!

Stephanie Squires

We have loved this school since day one. We can’t say enough about how patient and kind the staff are here. Our son has started reading and will be prepared for kindergarten because of this school and his teachers.
